Role Overview

The Senior Accountant & Auditor will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations and enforcing internal financial controls at RWS. The role is integral to consolidating cash records from various sites, ensuring adherence to statutory compliances, and enhancing internal audit processes as the company expands its industrial and PSU projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage comprehensive books of accounts, including ledgers and journals, for RWS's waterproofing services and construction chemical distribution.
• Consolidate and validate petty cashbooks and expenditure reports submitted from project locations.
• Calculate employee salaries, process reimbursements, and manage statutory deductions such as PF, ESI, and TDS.
• Oversee daily banking activities including reconciliations, vendor payments, and collection follow-ups.
• Prepare monthly financial reports comprising cash flows, profit & loss statements, and balance sheet summaries for management.
• Coordinate GST and TDS filings and ensure statutory compliances, working collaboratively with the company’s CA or tax consultants.
• Support tender tender costing and bid submission documents, including BOQ costing, margin analysis, and financial eligibility paperwork for PSU/EPC projects.
• Maintain comprehensive records of vendor and principal-brand transactions, invoicing, and payments.
• Perform periodic internal audits of site expenses and petty cash, detecting inaccuracies and compliance issues.
• Enhance internal financial controls across office and project sites.
• Facilitate statutory and external audits by preparing required documentation and resolving audit queries promptly.
• Document audit trails for all financial transactions.
• Identify and report any financial discrepancies, cost leakages, or irregularities, recommending corrective actions to management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Graduate degree in Commerce (B.Com/M.Com); CA (Intermediate) or CMA (Intermediate) preferred; fully qualified CA considered a significant advantage.
• Between 5 to 8 years of professional experience in accounting and/or internal auditing, preferably within construction, distribution, trading, or project-oriented firms.
• Sound knowledge of GST, TDS, and other statutory compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally and MS Excel; familiarity with ERP systems like Odoo is beneficial.
• Experience managing multi-site cash disbursement and reconciliation is highly advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to operate independently.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with site personnel, vendors, and external auditors.
