Position Overview

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Keep the self-checkout stations neat, safe, and well-organized by removing clutter, spills, and any irrelevant items.
• Encourage customer engagement with Walmart's programs such as credit card offers, product protection plans, and charity initiatives when appropriate.
• Assist customers with self-checkout use, monitor their activities, and perform necessary transaction verifications, while confidently explaining any required assistance and escalating cash or technical issues to the Customer Service Manager.
• Respond promptly to Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) alarms following protocols and accurately log any failures to deactivate tags.
• Manage Scan & Go equipment by ensuring scanners are returned to their designated places after use.
• Maintain scheduling flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate store operational needs.

Challenges You May Encounter

• Handle a fast-paced environment with a high workload, including managing overnight shifts while remaining alert and focused.
• Execute physical activities such as standing for long durations, bending, lifting supplies up to 20 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Perform repetitive stocking, zoning, and organizing tasks attentively to sustain store presentation standards.

Compensation

The starting hourly pay for this role is $18.40.
