Job description

About the Role

This permanent position at Vocus offers an opportunity to contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team environment where authenticity and innovative thinking are highly valued. As a Segment GTM Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to transform customer, revenue, margin, and behavior-related data into meaningful insights that guide business decisions. Initially, your focus will be on enhancing churn forecasting, analytics, and managing performance metrics across B2B segments.

Reporting directly to the Head of Segment GTM, you will partner closely with GTM leads and cross-departmental stakeholders to deliver clear, commercially actionable intelligence that drives informed strategies and execution. This hybrid role is based in Melbourne and may occasionally require travel for meetings with customers and industry partners. No security clearance or shift work is involved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and update segment-level forecast models and risk assessments related to customers, services, revenue, and margins, with a strong emphasis on churn and retention factors.
  • Evaluate customer groups, behavioral trends, and financial performance across various segments, products, contract types, and lifecycle stages to spot churn threats and growth prospects.
  • Assess the effectiveness of retention efforts including save campaigns, pricing strategies, and renewal initiatives, translating outcomes into practical guidance for GTM, Sales, Product, and Marketing teams to enhance retention and profitability.
  • Employ advanced analytical tools including AI and enterprise data warehouses (EDW) to improve forecast precision and identify emerging signals of churn or growth.
  • Convert analytical model outputs and AI insights into straightforward commercial recommendations, collaborating with teams across Data, Finance, Product, Commercial, Analytics, and Technology to implement new analytical capabilities.
  • Prepare supporting materials for regular business reviews at monthly, quarterly, and annual intervals showcasing key trends, risks, performance variations, and suggested actions.
  • Contribute to strategic projects addressing cost efficiency, productivity, pricing, AI opportunities, and broader commercial transformations.
  • Apply strong analytical judgment to interpret complex data and AI results, quantify business impact, and provide actionable advice to optimize profitability, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of five years' experience in commercial analysis or business performance roles.
  • Background in telecommunications, ICT, or similar service provider industries preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to support GTM or sales teams through commercial insights.
  • Experience with churn, pricing, or customer lifecycle analytics is a plus.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, data-driven environments.

Benefits and Culture

  • Engage with diverse, supportive, and inclusive teams fostering a welcoming culture.
  • Comprehensive career development plans with ongoing training and opportunities for growth.
  • Flexible working hours supported by a hybrid work model.
  • Generous discounts on utilities and retail brands.
  • Attractive leave policies including anniversary, purchased, parental, volunteering, study leave, plus additional company leave days.
  • Study assistance programs designed to accelerate personal and professional development.
  • Access to wellness initiatives addressing financial, psychological, and physical health.
