Role Overview
This position involves serving as a Security Systems Technician focused on troubleshooting and servicing intrusion, IP CCTV, and access control systems from various manufacturers. The role requires strong verbal communication to assess customer needs, explain repair processes, and ensure system functionality is restored. Inspections and detailed reporting to both customers and the company are part of the responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and resolve issues caused by faulty equipment or wiring.
- Adjust, repair, or replace malfunctioning equipment, followed by operational testing.
- Coordinate inspections and installations with relevant agencies like police and fire departments.
- Conduct repairs and inspections on intrusion detection, IP CCTV, and access control systems.
- Support other technicians in system repairs and perform minor fixes such as battery replacements.
- Verify system connectivity by testing operations linked to the customer monitoring center.
- Accurately complete all necessary forms and customer paperwork.
Basic Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in low-voltage or the security industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of major security manufacturer platforms including Bosch/Radionics, Honeywell, Firelight, Silent Knight, DMP, DSC, etc.
- Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record.
- High school diploma.
- Ability to successfully pass background and identity verifications.
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematic diagrams.
- Competency in using hand and power tools.
- Capability to safely unload and climb ladders from company vehicles.
- Commitment to operating fleet vehicles safely at all times.
- Strong communication skills and dedication to exceptional customer service.
Additional Information
This is a unionized position with pay ranging between $21.93 and $33.56 per hour as determined by the collective bargaining agreement. Benefits are offered through the local labor union. Exceptional candidates with unique skills may be considered beyond this pay scale.
