Role Overview
The Security Command Center Attendant is tasked with continuous observation and swift response to Health, Environment, Safety, and Security (HESS) events via surveillance systems at various Carnival Corporation destinations. This position ensures safety and security through active monitoring, incident coordination, reporting, and support of training and compliance efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate surveillance equipment such as CCTV, alarm, and access control systems to detect and manage potential security threats promptly.
- React quickly to emergencies or security alarms by dispatching security personnel and coordinating with Incident Response teams as necessary.
- Maintain vigilant situational awareness throughout monitored zones to safeguard personnel, visitors, and property.
- Document all security activities rigorously, including incident logs and daily reports, ensuring transparency and adherence to protocols.
- Report system issues or security concerns to supervisory staff for timely rectification.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations along with company-specific policies.
- Actively engage in drills, emergency response exercises, and ongoing training to maintain operational preparedness.
- Support the maintenance and testing of security hardware and communication systems to ensure functionality.
- Properly handle cleaning agents and uphold a safe working environment.
- Collaborate across departments like Security, Operations, and Management to promote safety and efficient incident management.
- Advance a workplace culture emphasizing safety, accountability, and regulatory adherence.
- Assist in cross-functional initiatives strengthening security and operational resilience.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to meet security objectives.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Adherence to company appearance and confidentiality standards.

- Proven organizational and time-management skills allowing efficient multitasking.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Competence in Microsoft Office and familiarity with data entry and reporting platforms.

- Ability to maintain critical thinking under pressure and effective decision-making.
- Physical fitness and stamina to work outdoors, stand for extended periods, and participate in emergency drills.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
HESS Responsibilities
- Comply fully with all company policies related to health, safety, environmental protection, and security.
- Utilize personal protective equipment and safety tools properly to ensure personal and team safety.
- Promptly communicate any unsafe conditions or environmental issues to relevant supervisors.
- Maintain personal and collective accountability for workplace safety.
- Engage constructively in HESS training programs and initiatives.
- Support legal and regulatory compliance efforts.
- Actively seek improvements in safety and environmental performance during daily work activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or an equivalent certification; further education in Hospitality or related field is advantageous.
- Certifications in security management or emergency response are considered beneficial.
- A minimum of two years of experience in security or surveillance operations is required.
- Preferably at least one year experience in dispatching security teams.
- Comprehensive understanding of security procedures, safety regulations, and emergency response strategies.
- Hands-on experience with CCTV, alarm systems, and access control.
- Excellent organizational, communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Professionalism, integrity, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in relevant office software and security management applications.
- Clear and courteous English verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to perform emergency response actions and participate in drills effectively.
- Work may require exposure to diverse indoor and outdoor environments and varying climatic conditions.
