Security and Intelligence Director for IMEEA Region

Role Overview

The Regional Chief Security Officer (RCSO) is responsible for leading security initiatives and strategic intelligence for the IMEEA Regional Office. The role focuses on safeguarding the organization’s personnel, operations, assets, information, reputation, and supply chains, while supplying senior leadership with timely geopolitical and security insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor geopolitical, military, political, and security developments impacting the organization in the region.
• Deliver executive-level analysis, early warning reports, risk assessments, and crisis briefings.
• Convert intelligence into practical advice and contingency actions.
• Collaborate with Headquarters to advise Group Management, Regional Directors, and Country General Managers during critical or sensitive situations.
• Supervise protection protocols for employees, seafarers, contractors, and business travelers, including travel risk management, security briefings, staff tracking, and incident escalation.
• Develop and validate relocation, evacuation, and emergency communication procedures.
• Lead responses to threats including detentions, civil disturbances, conflicts, and medical-security emergencies.
• Implement and enforce Group security policies and standards throughout the regions.
• Manage comprehensive security assessments of countries, offices, ports, terminals, and supply chains in coordination with Headquarters.
• Maintain regional risk registers, country risk ratings, and mitigation strategies.
• Advise on physical security measures such as access control, guarding, CCTV, and secure transportation.
• Oversee monitoring of security service providers and local security contacts.
• Lead regional security crisis management efforts, ensuring prompt escalation, executive updates, and synchronized protective responses.
• Maintain and conduct exercises for crisis, evacuation, and continuity plans.
• Perform post-incident evaluations and ensure implementation of remedial actions.
• Protect operational sites, cargo, and logistics functions while preventing supply chain contamination.
• Coordinate investigations into criminal incidents, insider threats, or breaches in information security.
• Recommend enhanced protections, alternate routes, operational restrictions, or temporary suspensions as necessary.
• Support counterintelligence activities and safeguard sensitive corporate interests.
• Develop and maintain high-level relationships with governmental and security authorities.
• Act as the Group Security and Intelligence representative to relevant official bodies and security partners.
• Collaborate closely with Legal, Compliance, Ethics, HR, HSE, Insurance, IT/Cybersecurity, Communications, and Public Affairs departments.

Candidate Profile

• A minimum of 10 years' experience in diplomacy, security, intelligence, defense, law enforcement, or crisis management fields.
• Expertise in geopolitical analysis, personnel protection, investigations, supply chain security, and business continuity planning.
• Excellent communication skills paired with exemplary judgment to provide sound advice to senior management under complex, high-risk circumstances.
• In-depth knowledge of the IMEEA region with the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality.
• Fluency in both French and English is required; regional languages are advantageous.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout the region.
