SD-WAN Implementation Engineer

Job Summary

We seek a skilled SD-WAN Implementation Engineer to join Whitespace Consulting India on a contractual basis. The role involves hands-on involvement in designing, deploying, managing, and optimizing SD-WAN solutions, specifically with platforms such as Versa, Fortinet, Cisco, among others, for enterprise clients globally.

Primary Duties

• Develop, operate, and maintain SD-WAN systems using leading platforms like Fortinet, Versa, and Cisco.
• Apply prior specialized SD-WAN expertise in implementation and operational roles.
• Configure, implement, and debug SD-WAN networks including logical builds for head-end and orchestrator components in data centers and DMZ environments.
• Carry out thorough post-implementation evaluations encompassing end-to-end functionality and integration testing as well as checkpoint validations.
• Integrate SD-WAN infrastructure with existing wide area networks, local area networks, and security technologies.
• Execute Day 0/1/2 operational activities, developing runbooks documenting these procedures.
• Engage with client teams to identify business needs and convert them into technical SD-WAN solutions.
• Monitor SD-WAN system performance, optimizing for scalability and reliability.
• Provide advanced L3/L4 support with root cause analysis and resolution of network incidents.
• Lead network migration projects, upgrades, and fresh deployments supporting multi-regional operations including Dallas and LATAM locations.
• Document network configurations, diagrams, and operational guidelines comprehensively.
• Collaborate closely with security and network operations personnel to assure compliance with organizational policies.
• Maintain continuous surveillance of SD-WAN headend components analyzing alerts, KPIs, and system reliability metrics.
• Draft project management documentation and reports to support project delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of professional experience focused on networking and SD-WAN technologies.
• Demonstrated practical expertise with Versa and Fortinet SD-WAN platforms; familiarity with Cisco Viptela or Silver Peak is advantageous.
• Comprehensive knowledge of routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP, plus MPLS, VPNs, firewall configurations, and IPsec tunnel setup.
• Experience in WAN optimization, Quality of Service (QoS), and traffic engineering methodologies.
• Understanding of cloud connectivity services supporting AWS, Azure, and GCP within hybrid network architectures.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across multiple network layers (Layer 2 to Layer 4).
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with international client teams.
• Proficiency in technical documentation and project report preparation.
• Preferable certifications: Vendor-specific SD-WAN certifications (Versa, Fortinet, Cisco), CCNP/CCIE, NSE, or equivalent credentials.

Eligibility

Applicants must hold a B.Tech or B.E. degree in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) or Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE).

Additional Information

This role is offered on a contractual basis in Hyderabad, India, with a highly competitive salary range of 2,000,000 to 2,500,000 INR annually. Experience with Fortinet SD-WAN is both preferred and mandatory for this position. Project management skills and the ability to prepare project documentation represent added advantages for candidates.
