School Social Worker

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated School Social Worker for a full-time position based in Doha, Qatar. The role entails offering direct social and emotional assistance to students through individual and group counseling, managing crisis situations, and ongoing case management. Collaboration with teachers, school administrators, and families is essential to identify student needs, formulate intervention strategies, and promote positive behavior, attendance, and academic involvement.

Key Duties

• Conduct student assessments and maintain confidential records.
• Coordinate referrals to community resources as needed.
• Engage in school-wide programs aimed at fostering student well-being and creating a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Participate in meetings and provide expert input on student support plans.
• Develop and facilitate workshops or training sessions on social and emotional topics targeted at staff, students, and families.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related discipline.
• Experience in educational settings, preferably with children and adolescents in multicultural or international schools.
• Proficient in student assessment, case management, and crisis intervention, demonstrating discretion and care in sensitive situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with students, families, and staff.
• Ability to design and run social-emotional learning programs, group sessions, and workshops supportive of student welfare and inclusion.
• Knowledge of child protection, safeguarding practices, and confidentiality standards.
• Fluency in English along with Arabic language skills.
• Strong organizational abilities to handle multiple cases and keep precise documentation.
• Adaptable, culturally sensitive, and aligned with the school's mission to support diverse learners.
