About Brisbane Boys' College
Brisbane Boys' College is a prestigious GPS day and boarding institution founded in 1902. Situated just four kilometres from central Brisbane, it offers education from Prep through Year 12, focusing on cultivating leadership and citizenship in boys.
Role Overview
The School Sergeant is entrusted with maintaining the College’s standards, traditions, and ethos, providing prominent leadership in areas such as student behavior, appearance, punctuality, supervision, and campus order. This role fosters a respectful and accountable environment that emphasizes safety and inclusion.
Collaboration and Leadership
Working alongside the Deputy Headmaster, Heads of Sub School, College Leadership, Heads of Year, Student Services, and Operations teams, the School Sergeant helps nurture student growth through firm yet fair approaches, building positive relationships and demonstrating consistent professionalism and sound judgment.
Position Details
- Location: Toowong, Brisbane
- Employment: Full-time, fixed-term from 2027 to 2029
- Salary: $92,000 to $131,000 annually plus superannuation, dependent on experience

The ideal applicant is a confident, compassionate educator dedicated to boys’ wellbeing and success. They foster positive connections with students, staff, and families, possess strong pastoral insight, and manage student behavior consistently and calmly. Independence, professionalism, and comfort working with student data to enhance engagement and accountability are essential. The candidate will actively participate in the College Wellbeing Team and embrace the College’s Christian values and traditions.
