Role Overview

We are searching for a dedicated School Counselor who aligns with our core values and respects regional cultural ethos.

Responsibilities

  • Support students in developing personal, social, and academic skills.
  • Track student progress individually and engage with parents regarding behavioral matters.
  • Address and prevent bullying, providing support for affected students.
  • Coach students on job search competencies like resume writing and interview strategies.
  • Assist students in navigating social, behavioral, and personal challenges.
  • Focus on preventative and developmental counseling to equip students with life skills that preempt complications and foster their growth.
  • Deliver specialized services including conflict resolution classes and identification of domestic abuse or family issues impacting development.
  • Identify opportunities for intervention through group counseling sessions and lead such groups effectively.
  • Use both large classroom settings and small groups to implement academic and behavioral interventions appropriately.
  • Collaborate with career counselors to inform students on career options and assist academic selections aligning with interests.
  • Maintain and provide access to a comprehensive career resources library/database for student use.
  • Engage with individual and group social development issues, recognizing cultural factors influencing adolescent growth.
  • Monitor at-risk students socially and coordinate referrals for external interventions in consultation with parents.
  • Maintain student confidentiality consistent with professional standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling.
  • At least two years of postgraduate experience serving as a School Counselor.
  • Possession of a CDC License.
  • Active participation in extracurricular activities.
  • Respectful attitude towards all community members within the school.
  • Experience working with students who are English language learners.
  • Positive, solution-oriented approach to professional responsibilities.
  • Cleaner enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) or equivalent police clearance.
