Job description
Role Overview
This is a permanent full-time position based at any major NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) office in New Zealand. The Scheduling Principal Specialist will lead scheduling excellence across NZTA's Infrastructure Development and Delivery portfolio, providing specialized leadership and advisory services to improve planning accuracy, schedule realism, and forecasting reliability for major infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide and coach project teams and senior stakeholders on scheduling best practices across multiple projects and programs.
- Collaborate closely with project controls, risk management, and delivery specialists to identify critical path risks.
- Enhance forecasting confidence through comprehensive schedule insights.
- Provide expert advice, assurance, and leadership in schedule development and analysis.
Candidate Profile
- Significant experience in project scheduling and control management in complex infrastructure environments.
- Strong competence with critical path method and schedule risk management techniques.
- Proven ability to develop and assure detailed and complex infrastructure schedules.
- Advanced analytical skills and capability to forecast project outcomes effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex scheduling data to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A collaborative nature and eagerness to build organizational capability.
- Experience using Primavera software is an advantage but not required.
