About the Company and Role
K&K Talents is a global recruitment firm specializing in providing technical talent across Europe since 1993. Our client based in the United Kingdom is currently expanding their software development teams and seeking skilled professionals.
This opening is for a Scala Developer based in Chester or Bromley, UK, with permanent full-time employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable applications leveraging Scala.
- Create and support backend services, including APIs and microservices architectures.
- Develop and enhance MySQL database solutions focused on efficiency and performance.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary groups to deliver high-quality software products.
- Diagnose and resolve performance and reliability challenges in applications.
- Engage in peer code reviews and participate actively in software design discussions.
- Contribute to Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) and automation initiatives supporting deployment processes.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of six years’ experience in IT or software development roles.
- Proficient programming skills in Scala, including working knowledge with Scala frameworks.
- Solid experience in Java development and backend application architecture.
- Strong grasp of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Functional Programming principles.
- Proven track record in building scalable and performance-driven applications and services.
- Expertise in MySQL database management, including schema design, query optimization, and tuning.
- Hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge or experience in DevOps culture and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps for automation and continuous integration.
- Skills in application performance troubleshooting and optimization.
- History of working effectively in cross-functional development teams.
