Job Description
This position is for a Junior Engineer or Engineer specializing in SCADA with 5 to 8 years of experience. Candidates should hold a Diploma, BE, or B.Tech degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Automation fields.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, configure, and debug SCADA systems for industrial automation tasks.
- Design SCADA interfaces including screens, tags, alarms, trends, reports, and communication setups.
- Operate with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and standard industrial communication protocols.
- Integrate SCADA systems with PLCs or RTUs ensuring robust communication links.
- Address communication and programming challenges onsite.
- Support factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), commissioning, testing, and execution processes.
- Develop technical documents, maintain I/O lists, manage tag databases, and create backups of systems.
- Liaise closely with project teams, including electrical, automation, and clients.
- Provide ongoing support post-commissioning to resolve any site-related issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Practical experience working with SCADA platforms such as WinCC, AVEVA/Wonderware, iFIX, Ignition, or similar software.
- Familiarity with PLCs from Mitsubishi, Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or their counterparts.
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols including Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, OPC, TCP/IP.
- Basic knowledge of control panel design, electrical schematics, and general industrial automation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Availability to travel to client or project locations as required.
