Role Overview

The SAP Basis Administrator role is a full-time, on-site position located in Doha, Qatar. The primary responsibility is to install, configure, monitor, and maintain SAP systems while ensuring optimal performance and system availability. Daily duties will include system administration, database management, patch management, upgrades, and troubleshooting. The role requires managing user roles, collaborating with IT and business units on projects and improvements, and maintaining system documentation along with backup and recovery procedures. The incumbent must ensure adherence to security protocols and compliance standards within the SAP landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and tune SAP systems for optimal performance.
• Oversee system administration tasks including server and operating system management.
• Coordinate database administration activities to ensure database health and security.
• Apply patches, upgrades, and manage SAP transport system effectively.
• Troubleshoot and resolve SAP system, performance, and integration issues.
• Administer user access, roles, and permissions in compliance with security standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support projects and system enhancements.
• Maintain comprehensive system documentation and backup/recovery strategies.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven expertise in SAP Basis including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
• Strong system administration skills for servers, operating systems, and SAP landscapes.
• Solid database administration experience focused on SAP-supporting databases.
• Advanced troubleshooting capabilities to address system and performance issues.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• Experience managing SAP upgrades, support packages, and transport management processes.
• Knowledge of SAP security, backup, disaster recovery, and high availability practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Professional SAP certifications such as SAP Basis or SAP Technology certifications are beneficial.
