Role Overview
The Sanitation Technician is an essential member of our team, responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly working environment. Following the Master Cleaning Schedule, this position requires efficiency, punctuality, and adherence to company policies, working under the guidance of the Sanitation Manager or Lead Sanitation Technician.
Primary Duties
- Consistently keep assigned work areas clean, safe, and professional in appearance.
- Arrive on time and attend to assigned work zones promptly.
- Execute thorough cleaning and sanitizing tasks as outlined in the Master Cleaning Schedule.
- Notify the Lead Sanitation Technician upon completing assigned tasks for schedule verification.
- Coordinate with various departments to identify and address any extra cleaning requirements.
- Properly sanitize clothing in designated areas according to company protocols.
- Follow strict policies prohibiting entry into Green or Finished areas when utilizing restrooms or break areas.
- Observe handwashing and sanitization protocols carefully when moving between Red and Green zones.
- Clean production machinery correctly using approved chemicals.
- Perform all duties with safety and efficiency as priorities.
Requirements
- Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent education.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication abilities with adaptability to changes.
- Ability to demonstrate cultural awareness and competence.
- Proactive mindset with sound decision-making skills.
- Strong personal integrity combined with a team-oriented approach.
- Flexibility to manage varying workloads and participate in special projects as needed.
Working Conditions and Physical Expectations
- Frequent lifting of weights up to 60 pounds.
- Ability to climb multiple stairs and ladders.
- Occasional bending, twisting, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Walking long distances—up to two or more miles per day.
- Perform physical tasks involving pushing equipment such as brooms and shovels.
- Work at different heights, confined spaces, and environmental temperatures ranging from freezing up to over 100°F.
- Extended periods spent standing.
- Use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Operation of hand and power tools.
- Handling of sanitizing and cleaning chemicals.
- Potential exposure to dusty work conditions.
- Working shifts ranging from 10 to 12 hours in duration.
