Sales Porter

Job Overview

The Sales Porter supports dealership operations by managing vehicle logistics, assisting with vehicle preparation, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. This role requires moving and prepping vehicles including those traded in or received from manufacturers, ensuring they are clean, fueled, and ready for customer delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up the vehicle lot and facilitate the movement of inventory vehicles.
• Collaborate with the detailing department to prepare vehicles for resale.
• Operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles, moving inventory as assigned, potentially between locations.
• Maintain a hazard-free and organized work environment.
• Park and retrieve vehicles for customers during delivery and pickup.
• Attend scheduled meetings and adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including those related to hazardous waste disposal.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of service areas on a scheduled basis.
• Carry out additional assigned duties as needed.

• Adaptability to changing requirements and ability to work effectively in various environmental conditions.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish, including reading and writing.
• Valid driver's license with the capability to drive diverse vehicle types and meeting insurability standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent credential.

Working Conditions

This physically demanding position involves standing for six to eight or more hours daily, lifting equipment weighing between 10 and 75 pounds, and exposure to dust, exhaust fumes, and various materials. The role requires vehicle operation and may include evening, holiday, and weekend shifts.
