The Opportunity
This role is based in Al-Qassim, working in the field for the Rapid Diagnostic Infectious Disease Division. Abbott's rapid diagnostic solutions are utilized globally in hospitals, labs, and clinics, delivering critical information that supports clinical decisions for diverse health conditions ranging from heart attacks and blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers.
Job Purpose and Scope
The Infectious Disease division aims to lead market development and promote the adoption of point-of-care diagnostics (POC) in core markets. Transitioning from lab-based testing to POC diagnostics necessitates substantial change for customers. The Sales Executive will promote Abbott's entire Infectious Disease portfolio within their assigned territory, leveraging franchise synergies and supporting new COVID-related product launches.
Key Responsibilities
- Fully accountable for meeting assigned sales targets.
- Drive territory growth by actively promoting new and established products, supplemented by marketing activities such as presentations and competitor analysis.
- Conduct sales calls focused on high-potential areas for efficient resource utilization.
- Implement Go to Market strategies aligned with regional and global frameworks adapted to local objectives.
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) via consultative selling techniques.
- Assess present and future customer needs and recommend products and services accordingly.
- Collaborate closely with distributor sales teams to develop and execute targeted sales strategies segmented by customer types.
- Support distribution partners through training, sales meetings, technical guidance, and marketing assistance.
- Provide timely business forecasts, reports, and action plans, with regular performance reviews against goals.
- Ensure accurate demand planning based on customer and distributor commitments.
- Gather and maintain current market intelligence on competitors, pricing, tenders, and customer insights.
- Represent Abbott professionally, adhering to the company's ethical and legal standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal; additional languages are advantageous.
- Minimum two years of experience in healthcare sales, ideally within diagnostics or point-of-care sectors.
- Familiarity with the healthcare industry and private healthcare providers within the territory.
- Pre-existing relationships with key customers in the region is beneficial.
