Job description

About Charity Link

Charity Link is a distinguished charity fundraising agency with close to three decades of experience, delivering impactful fundraising campaigns for notable UK charities, including Dogs Trust, Guide Dogs, and Breast Cancer Now. Every year, we collectively raise over £40 million to support these causes.

Role Overview

The Private Site Fundraiser acts as the public ambassador for our charity partners, engaging with the general public to encourage support through regular monthly direct debit donations or lottery sign-ups. Fundraising activities are conducted across various locations such as events, shows, superstores, shopping centres, town centres, and train stations. Venue spots are prearranged by our dedicated in-house team to maximize donor acquisition opportunities.

This role requires flexibility in working hours to coincide with peak footfall times, including evenings and weekends. Fundraisers receive charity-branded apparel and equipment, including stands and tablets for donor enrollment.

Employee Benefits

  • Starting base salary of £23,795 with potential discretionary bonuses, leading to an on-target earnings (OTE) of £45,000 or more
  • 28 days of annual leave with a flexible holiday scheme
  • Access to a pension plan
  • Healthcare benefits valued up to £900 per year
  • Life insurance providing twice annual salary in case of death
  • Comprehensive and award-winning training programs and ongoing support
  • Discounts at over 30,000 retail outlets
  • Generous referral incentive schemes
  • Long service rewards including additional leave, cash gifts, and enhanced healthcare
  • Regular performance incentives and bonuses
  • Career progression opportunities

Candidate Profile

  • Positive mindset and robust work ethic, motivated to exceed targets with self-driven initiative
  • Experience in roles involving customer interaction such as sales, customer service, or field sales
  • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to quickly build rapport with the public face-to-face
  • Availability to work on Saturdays and weekends, peak periods for donor acquisition
  • Possession of a valid full UK driving license and access to a personal vehicle
  • Preparedness to work outdoors regardless of weather conditions
  • Strong desire to passionately advocate for the charities represented

Recruitment Process

  • Initial review of CV applications
  • Preliminary discussion about the candidate’s experience and role suitability
