Job description
About Optix
Optix enables operators of flexible and coworking spaces to create smarter, more automated environments and better connected communities. Their platform serves as the digital backbone for coworking and flex spaces worldwide, integrating automation, CRM, and community engagement into an efficient, unified system.
Role Overview
We are expanding our sales team and seek a driven Sales Development Representative (SDR). This role comes with a defined pathway lasting 6 to 12 months to advance to an Account Executive position. Exceptional performers who meet targets and demonstrate the right mindset can expect to manage their own client portfolio as early as January.
This position is not intended for candidates seeking an extended period exclusively as an SDR without progression. Instead, it suits motivated individuals eager to prove themselves, work hard, and embrace growing responsibilities.
The role is hybrid-based in Vancouver, BC, with three days working onsite and two days remote weekly.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum one year of experience in quota-driven or outbound-focused roles such as SDR, BDR, inside sales, or similar competitive positions requiring self-generated and closed opportunities.
- Experience in B2B SaaS is advantageous but not essential; demonstrated consistent overachievement of targets and a strong desire to take on greater responsibility is critical.
- Self-motivated and proactive attitude, requiring little supervision to maintain activity levels.
- Resilient in handling rejection as constructive feedback and maintains persistence.
- Effective and confident communicator across email, phone, and LinkedIn channels.
- A documented history of outperforming colleagues beyond mere attendance.
- Views this role as an initial step in a sales career trajectory rather than an endpoint.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in outbound prospecting through emails, LinkedIn, and calls to build pipeline and schedule qualified meetings for Account Executives.
- Conduct insightful discovery conversations that identify real pain points and drive engagement momentum.
- Articulate Optix's value proposition in a way that aligns with operators' actual needs.
- Maintain up-to-date and organized outreach sequences, follow-ups, and CRM data within HubSpot.
- Collaborate with Account Executives to improve messaging, ensure smooth transitions, and provide feedback on successful approaches.
- Gather frontline market intelligence and relay it to Sales and Marketing teams to inform strategy.
Compensation and Benefits
- Clearly defined advancement path to Account Executive role within 6 to 12 months based on performance milestones rather than tenure.
- Competitive base salary complemented by an attractive commission plan.
- Participation in a robust Employee Stock Option Plan.
- Health and dental insurance coverage provided through Sun Life.
- Mission-driven organizational culture fostering positivity, collaboration, and support.
- Paid vacation totaling 15 days annually.
- Annual allowance allocated for health and wellness expenses.
- Modern waterfront office located in Gastown featuring a flexible 60% in-office and 40% remote work model.
- A dedicated team environment that balances professionalism with strong interpersonal respect.
