Job description
About Harvey
Harvey is pioneering the transformation of legal and professional service sectors by blending cutting-edge agentic AI technology, a robust enterprise platform, and deep industry knowledge. Our mission is to redefine how essential knowledge-driven work will be completed for years to come. We are currently experiencing rapid growth with solid product-market fit and strong backing from world-class investors, offering remarkable opportunities for personal, professional, and financial advancement.
Our team embraces agility and ownership, driving towards excellence with intensity and close customer engagement. We operate under three core principles: Decisiveness, Simplicity, and Job's Not Finished. We prioritize swift decision-making over waiting for perfect information, believe in scalable simplicity, and continuously strive for improvement. If you wish to deliver your finest work alongside passionate peers, Harvey is the place to be.
Role Overview
We are recruiting our inaugural Sales Development Representatives in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) to play a crucial role in regional expansion. Joining as founding members of the outbound sales team, the initial cohort of three will be responsible for generating qualified leads across a diverse spectrum from major law firms to in-house legal departments spanning Enterprise, Mid Market, and SMB sectors. Collaborating closely with Account Executives, Legal Engineers, and Marketing, you will engage in comprehensive research, implement disciplined multi-channel outreach strategies, and successfully secure meetings with senior legal decision-makers. Legal software buyers are highly discerning, requiring credibility to initiate discussions rather than high-volume outreach. These hires will shape the regional sales approach alongside a concurrently hired Sales Development Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage outbound lead generation for designated accounts throughout ANZ, engaging with top-tier and mid-tier law practices and corporate legal teams in Australia and New Zealand.
- Conduct thorough research on targeted firms to understand practice areas, strategic goals, and opportunities for AI adoption to enhance legal workflows.
- Execute disciplined outreach campaigns through multiple channels including calls, emails, LinkedIn, and event engagements to secure initial meetings with managing partners, general counsel, innovation heads, and senior operations leaders.
- Evaluate inbound demo inquiries and marketing-generated leads using consistent qualification criteria, swiftly routing high-priority prospects to appropriate Account Executives.
- Collaborate extensively with Account Executives and Legal Engineers on account strategies and meeting preparations.
- Maintain precise CRM data integrity and pipeline analytics; continuously refine messaging, outreach sequences, and account targeting strategies, contributing insights back to the regional sales playbook.
Candidate Requirements
- 2 to 3 years of sales experience, including a minimum of one role in outbound sales development within a B2B SaaS environment, with a proven track record of meeting or surpassing sales quotas.
- Demonstrable experience in cold outbound sales involving independently building target lists, crafting outreach sequences, and making calls, beyond solely warm or inbound lead handling.
- Comfort and proficiency in navigating complex, multi-stakeholder buying processes involving senior legal executives and committee consensus.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of composing succinct, credible first-contact emails to managing partners and explaining technical topics to non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with Salesforce, sales engagement platforms (such as Salesloft or Outreach), and analytics tools for pipeline reporting.
- Strong discipline and methodical approach to territory management, CRM upkeep, and accountability for pipeline status.
- Openness to feedback, a learning mindset, and genuine interest or familiarity with the legal or professional services landscape in ANZ.
- Valid Australian work authorization is mandatory; visa sponsorship will not be provided.
Additional Details
- Primary location in Sydney, NSW, with a flexible hybrid work model involving three days in-office and two days remote.
- Employment rights must include valid Australian work permits; visa sponsorship is not available.
Benefits and Perks
- The hybrid work arrangement balances office collaboration with remote flexibility.
- Comprehensive health coverage including private hospital insurance and extras covering dental, optical, physiotherapy, and mental health.
- Family and fertility support, including assistance for fertility treatments, adoption, and surrogacy.
- Long-term financial security with retirement plans and related benefits.
- Paid leave entitlements comprising annual, sick, and fully paid parental leave for all parents.
- Well-being initiatives such as daily lunches in-office, wellness memberships, and monthly travel support.
- Professional growth support including funding for courses, certifications, conferences, and resources annually.
- Provision of allowances to assist with remote work expenses like home office setup, internet, and phone costs.
- Unique benefits such as a four-week paid sabbatical after four years of tenure to rest, travel, or pursue personal interests.
Equal Opportunity and Applicant Support
Harvey is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusivity, prohibiting discrimination based on any protected status. We provide reasonable accommodations upon request to applicants with disabilities to ensure equitable hiring practices.
