Sales Associate, Flooring Coverings (Full-Time)

Core Responsibilities

• Deliver prompt and friendly assistance by proactively seeking customers to understand and fulfill their needs.
• Follow Home Depot's GET Model by greeting, engaging, and thanking every customer in your department.
• Assist customers by escorting them to suitable products across departments.
• Ask open-ended questions to gauge customer project goals and knowledge level to provide tailored recommendations.
• Promote additional services such as Special Services, Tool Rental, Pro Desk, and Pro Services to enhance customer experience.
• Drive sales by outlining available choices categorized as good, better, and best, and suggesting complementary products or services outside your department.
• Educate customers on completing their entire project, not just individual items.
• Utilize the empowerment program to resolve customer concerns effectively.
• Maintain daily stock organization ensuring products are properly signed, neatly displayed, and clean.
• Keep up-to-date with product knowledge for your department and neighboring sections to offer comprehensive assistance.
• Proactively expand awareness of all company products and service offerings.
• Adhere to safety protocols and loss prevention policies to ensure a safe shopping and working environment.

Additional Details

• You will report directly to the Department Supervisor.
• No travel is required for this position.
• The role demands physical activities such as bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving merchandise.
• Work hours may vary and include flexible scheduling with evenings and weekends.
• The work environment is a warehouse setting that may be dusty, noisy, with frequently open doors causing drafts and temperature changes.

Educational and Experience Requirements

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferably 1 to 2 years of retail or trade experience is advantageous.
• No leadership or certification requirements specified.
