Sales Application Engineer

Job Overview

The Sales Application Engineer will provide expert technical guidance and engineering solutions tailored to customers' power generation needs. This role acts as the link between sales, engineering, and project teams to ensure the selection and delivery of efficient generator sets and electrical systems throughout Saudi Arabia, primarily based in Al Khobar, Eastern Province.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate customer requirements to recommend suitable generator sets, electrical power generation systems, and related equipment.
• Select and appropriately size gensets and connected equipment in accordance with project specs, standards, and operational demands.
• Develop technical proposals, quotations, and tender documents supporting power generation solutions.
• Review technical documentation including electrical drawings and project specs to guarantee compliance.
• Provide both pre-sales and post-sales technical assistance to customers and sales personnel.
• Support the sales force during client meetings offering technical expertise and product recommendations.
• Deliver product demonstrations, technical presentations, and training to customers.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project teams ensuring smooth project execution.
• Communicate with manufacturers and suppliers to obtain technical details and product information.
• Assist in selecting and configuring generators, alternators, control panels, synchronization and ATS panels as well as accessories.
• Help troubleshoot technical challenges and provide engineering solutions during the project lifecycle.
• Maintain organized technical documents, application records, and project files.
• Stay informed about the latest industry standards, innovations, and competitor products related to power generation.
• Complete any additional tasks assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 3 to 5 years experience as an Application Engineer, Sales/Application Engineer, or Technical Support Engineer in the power generation sector.
• Expertise in diesel and gas gensets, electrical power generation systems, alternators, control systems, synchronization, and ATS panels.
• Proven ability in equipment selection, sizing, and application engineering for generator systems.
• Skilled in preparing technical proposals and analyzing engineering specifications.
• Excellent analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering software tools.
• Fluency in both English and Arabic, spoken and written.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and standards.
• Strong interpersonal skills with capability in customer relationship management and presentations.
• Possession of a valid Saudi driving license and willingness to travel extensively across the Eastern Province and other parts of Saudi Arabia.
• Strong organizational, time management, and teamwork skills.
