Job description
Job Overview
The role requires conducting daily safety inspections to detect unsafe behaviors and conditions, ensuring swift corrective actions are taken. The incumbent will oversee all onsite work to guarantee compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act, associated regulations, and project-specific safety mandates.
Key Duties
- Perform daily site inspections to identify risks and non-compliant activities.
- Ensure prompt implementation of corrective actions for identified safety issues.
- Verify adherence to safe work procedures and risk assessments by all site workers.
- Identify and report hazards encountered during construction tasks, suggesting and applying effective control strategies.
- Communicate hazards, safety protocols, and reminders to workers and supervisors on the site.
- Oversee high-risk tasks including lifting, working at heights, excavation, confined space entry, hot works, demolition, and piling operations.
- Check contractor documentation such as Method Statement Risk Assessments (MSRA) briefings, Permits to Work (PTW), training certificates, and toolbox meeting records for compliance.
- Immediately report unsafe acts or conditions and coordinate incident updates with Assistant Safety Manager (ASM) or Project Safety Manager (PSM).
- Collaborate closely with ASM/PSM to uphold a safe working environment.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of at least a WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level B).
- A minimum of two years’ experience as a Safety Supervisor or Coordinator in the construction sector within Singapore.
- Experience working on contractor sites is advantageous.
