Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time Safety Officer to be based on-site in the Greater Ahmedabad Area. The role entails managing daily safety operations across project sites by performing safety inspections, identifying potential hazards, and enforcing corrective measures. Duties include devising and implementing safety policies, ensuring compliance with legal and company safety standards, conducting safety drills and toolbox talks, and maintaining thorough incident documentation. The Safety Officer will also conduct accident investigations, contribute to risk assessments, and collaborate closely with project teams to reinforce a culture of safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine safety inspections and identify workplace hazards.
• Develop and maintain safety policies and procedures aligned with regulatory and company standards.
• Lead safety drills, toolbox sessions, and awareness training programs for site staff.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses thoroughly; prepare detailed reports with root cause analysis.
• Work collaboratively with project managers, site supervisors, and labor teams to promote safe practices.
• Support security coordination on-site as needed.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives regarding health, safety, and security measures.

Candidate Requirements

• Solid understanding of Health & Safety practices and Occupational Health principles.
• Experience in accident investigation, incident reporting, and root cause assessment.
• Awareness of security protocols relevant to project sites.
• Proven ability to conduct effective safety training sessions including toolbox talks and workshops.
• Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline; safety certifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH are advantageous.
• Prior experience working in infrastructure, construction, or industrial environments is preferred.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills capable of engaging all workforce levels.
• Able to manage multiple responsibilities on-site, make sound decisions under pressure, and maintain professional ethics.
