Safety Officer

Overview

The Junior HSE Officer role focuses on active, on-site management and enforcement of Health, Safety, and Environmental standards at project locations. The candidate acts as the main Quality, Health, Safety & Environment liaison on site, guaranteeing adherence to both company policies and client as well as UAE regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily safety inspections across project sites, documenting results via standardized checklists.
• Ensure personnel strictly use personal protective equipment and subcontractors observe safety protocols.
• Issue Safety Observation Reports, Violation Notices, and Non-Conformance Reports for infractions.
• Monitor compliance with Permits to Work, especially for high-risk and hot work activities.
• Validate certifications related to worker competencies, working at heights, scaffolding, and first aid before mobilization.
• Keep and maintain an accurate register of HSE equipment, including inspections and expiry dates.
• Investigate accidents and near misses, preparing timely incident reports.
• Compile comprehensive weekly and monthly HSE performance reviews.
• Conduct mandatory site safety inductions and lead daily toolbox talks.
• Support internal and external ISO audits, client HSE reviews, and facilitate governmental regulatory inspections.

Requirements

• Educational qualification of Diploma or Bachelor's degree in HSE, Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Possession of NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) is mandatory.
• Minimum of 4 years' practical field experience in HSE roles.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Proficient in technical report writing and in the use of Microsoft Office tools.
