As a Safety Inspector, you will ensure the supervision of operational staff engaged in train services according to FlixTrain GmbH guidelines. You will conduct inspections and guarantee consistent implementation of regulations during routine operations and exceptional circumstances. Acting as a qualified liaison among operations, employees, and authorities, you will apply expertise, tact, and firm judgement.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct operational control checks and monitoring rides, analyzing trip data in line with safety objectives.
• Manage qualification processes including maintaining the "Betriebliche Akte" (operational personnel files) of staff involved in train operations.
• Issue ride authorizations and assignments for route and location knowledge acquisition; administer related supplementary certificates.
• Perform random audits of work schedules and shifts to verify compliance with driving/rest periods and planning standards per BRW guidelines.
• Participate in accident and incident investigations, handle emergency duties for the railway undertaking, and serve as an examiner following FlixTrain's examination regulations.
• Contribute actively to developing the safety management system and related regulations; maintain internal digital safety applications.
• Under ECM obligations, verify adherence to legal and internal requirements for safe vehicle operation.

Candidate Profile

• Must hold a train driver license with a valid supplementary certificate and possess at least three years of professional experience excluding training time.
• Deep familiarity with railway operational rules, ideally including European regulations and cross-border operations near neighboring countries.
• Medical fitness per TfV standards and a minimum of secondary education (Realschulabschluss) required, along with certified German language skills at minimum C1 level.
• At least 100 driving hours annually as a train driver and a valid car driver's license.
• Willingness to travel extensively across Germany and work weekends, holidays, night shifts, plus being on call.
• Experience interacting with travelers and handling safety-critical situations.
• Strong communicative sensitivity while dealing with colleagues and official authorities.
