Our multidisciplinary teams collaborate remotely across departments such as Finance, Accounting, Legal, Licensing, Business Development, Sales, Product, Technology, Audit, and Executive Leadership to maintain accurate royalty management, contractual compliance, clear financial reporting, and sustainable business growth.
Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Royalty Manager to fully oversee all royalty-related financial and operational processes. This includes royalty computations, licensee reporting, revenue reconciliation, payment monitoring, forecasting, contract adherence, audit coordination, reporting accuracy, control implementation, and process enhancements throughout the licensing portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute a robust royalty management framework.
- Create and enforce policies, procedures, controls, and governance for royalty administration.
- Ensure all royalty activities comply with license agreements and financial guidelines.
- Set standards for royalty reporting, reconciliation, payment collection, forecasting, and regulatory compliance.
- Continuously identify opportunities to boost accuracy, timeliness, transparency, and efficiency in royalty processing.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant will have a proven track record in royalty management, licensing operations, revenue accounting or similar fields. This role demands expertise in interpreting and applying license agreements, financial analysis, and managing royalty income streams.
- Demonstrated experience administering royalty or licensing financial operations.
- Deep knowledge of royalty calculations and economics related to licensing.
- Ability to translate licensing agreement terms into financial workflows.
- Strong accounting background combined with comprehensive financial analysis skills.
- Experienced in royalty reporting, reconciliation, accrual, collection, and forecasting techniques.
- Skilled in managing relationships with licensees and financial reporting obligations.
- Understanding of revenue recognition standards and financial control practices.
- Proven ability to support royalty audits and compliance checks.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
- Familiarity with minimum guarantees, milestones, tiered royalty schemes, revenue sharing models, and other licensing structures.
- Excellent proficiency in Excel and financial modelling.
- Experience with ERP systems, contract and royalty management software, CRM, or finance platforms.
- Knowledge of software such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, Salesforce, Power BI, or Tableau is beneficial.
- Exposure to international, multi-currency, or multi-jurisdiction royalty portfolios is highly preferred.
- Background in industries with intensive royalty activities like IP, technology, software, entertainment, publishing, consumer products, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, sports, or media is an asset.
- Experience with royalty audits and recovery processes is highly valued.
- Understanding of intellectual property licensing and contract law is a plus.
- Ability to aid licensing negotiations is advantageous.
- Familiarity with automation, data analytics, or royalty management technologies is desirable.
- Experience working in UAE, GCC, Middle East, or multinational commercial contexts is a plus.
- Relevant academic credentials in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or Commerce are beneficial.
- Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, CIMA, or equivalents are advantageous.
- Additional qualifications in Licensing, Intellectual Property, Contract Management, or Finance preferred.
- Excellent command of English; Arabic language skills are advantageous in UAE/GCC regions.
- Strong numerical, analytical, organizational, communication, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Ability to juggle multiple licensees, contracts, reporting schedules, audits, reconciliations, and deadlines effectively.
- Self-motivated and capable of operating independently in a fully remote and globally distributed setting.
- Possess a finance-driven, commercially oriented, analytical, detail-focused, compliance-conscious, process-centric, technology-enabled, and results-focused mindset.
