Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced leader for a unique position as a Roving Facility Manager. This role involves traveling across our various care homes in New Zealand, delivering operational leadership and support where most needed. The role includes leading transitions, covering management leave, mentoring emerging leaders, and leading improvement projects to enhance resident care and business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee leadership changes within facilities, ensuring smooth transitions and consistent care delivery.
- Provide temporary management coverage during periods of leave to sustain operational and leadership standards.
- Coach and mentor less experienced care home managers and leadership teams to build their skills and confidence.
- Support facilities in reaching targets related to occupancy, workforce, finances, quality, and resident satisfaction.
- Assist with audit preparation, regulatory compliance, and implementation of best practices.
- Maintain high levels of care, service quality, health and safety standards across all sites.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and projects focused on operational excellence, resident outcomes, and workforce effectiveness.
Candidate Profile
- Proven leadership experience as a Care Home Manager, Facility Manager, Village Manager, Operations Manager or similar senior role.
- Strong skills in leadership, people management, and operational oversight.
- Demonstrated experience working within aged care settings.
- Adaptable to change with the ability to quickly build effective relationships and trust.
- Confident in problem-solving and committed to achieving results.
- Prepared to travel extensively across New Zealand.
- A Registered Nurse qualification is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience managing staff including roster planning.
Employment Details
This is a full-time role requiring 40 hours per week. The position is based in Auckland (Parnell) Support Office but demands significant travel throughout the country to support multiple sites.
