The studio supports clients from concept development through final post-production, integrating artistic creativity with technical proficiency to craft visually striking projects.
Role Overview
The Roto Artist will be tasked with producing accurate mattes and rotoscope shapes essential for compositing and VFX pipelines in film and animated projects. Daily duties involve meticulously tracing and isolating characters and objects on a frame-by-frame basis, ensuring flawless edges and steady motion. The artist will collaborate closely with compositors to merge roto outputs seamlessly into finished scenes, adhering to both creative standards and technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed mattes and roto shapes frame-by-frame for VFX integration.
- Ensure clean edge extraction and maintain consistent object motion across sequences.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and compositing teams for feedback and project alignment.
- Maintain strict adherence to project schedules, file naming conventions, and data organization.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent proficiency in Keying and Paint techniques for precise object extraction and edge enhancement.
- Strong knowledge of Motion Tracking and related computer graphics approaches to facilitate accurate roto integration.
- Familiarity with industry-standard VFX and compositing tools such as Nuke, After Effects, Silhouette, and Mocha.
- Capacity to work effectively on multiple shots under tight deadlines while ensuring high-quality outputs.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset, open to constructive feedback.
