Job description
Position Overview
The Room Technician will address and fulfill guest repair requests while maintaining open communication with guests to resolve any maintenance concerns efficiently. Duties include preventive maintenance, regular inspections, and handling equipment and machinery related to kitchen and mechanical areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to guest repair needs and resolve maintenance issues.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
- Inspect all tools, machinery, and equipment visually to ensure proper functionality.
- Handle and transport equipment such as tools and radios as needed.
- Locate and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and utilities.
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and requisition parts as required.
- Communicate daily activities and problems across shifts using established communication protocols.
- Possess or gain knowledge in areas such as air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatics/electronics, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and building maintenance.
- Perform surface preparations, painting, drywall or wood trim repairs, light bulb and A/C filter replacements, including cleaning up work areas thoroughly.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment, plumbing fixtures, electrical components, cosmetic items, and guestroom devices.
- Program televisions and manage housekeeping and engineering inventory tasks.
- Utilize Lockout/Tagout procedures to ensure safety during maintenance.
- Maintain landscaping and irrigation systems externally and internally.
- Perform basic computer operations to adjust air handler schedules and temperature settings.
- Adhere to all safety, security, and company policies, report hazards, and complete necessary safety training.
- Maintain professional appearance, protect proprietary information, and guard company assets.
- Provide exceptional guest service following company standards and assist guests as required.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve shared objectives and communicate professionally.
- Physically capable of moving, lifting, and handling objects up to 50 pounds independently, and heavier items with assistance, including navigating stairs, ramps, and ladders.
- Perform additional reasonable duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Some experience with general maintenance and interior/exterior surface preparation and painting desired.
- Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Driver’s license is required.
- No supervisory experience needed.
