Room Attendant

Job Summary

The Room Attendant contributes significantly to the hospitality team by ensuring guest rooms, public areas, and designated spaces remain clean, orderly, and inviting. This role is essential for delivering excellent guest satisfaction and a positive experience.

Primary Responsibilities

• Clean guest rooms meticulously in accordance with established quality standards, including dusting, vacuuming, linen changes, and bed-making.
• Sanitize bathrooms thoroughly, covering all fixtures, surfaces, and replenishing amenities.
• Maintain cleanliness of furniture, decorative items, and general surfaces in rooms and public zones by dusting and wiping.
• Restock essential supplies such as toiletries, towels, and linen within guest accommodations.
• Dispose of trash by emptying bins and lining them in guest rooms and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in various hotel areas including rooms, corridors, and public spaces.
• Promptly identify and communicate required maintenance or repair issues to respective staff.
• Monitor and report lost and found items encountered in guest and public areas to supervisors.
• Engage guests professionally and courteously to respond to requests or questions.
• Adhere to privacy and security protocols to protect guest confidentiality and safety.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Prior experience in housekeeping or similar roles is advantageous.
• High attention to detail, with knowledge of correct cleaning methods, chemical usage, and equipment operation.
• Ability to efficiently manage assigned room duties independently, including organization of housekeeping carts and related tasks.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with guests and team members.
• Basic comprehension of safety regulations and sanitation standards.
• Willingness and flexibility to work during nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Working Environment and Physical Demands

This job necessitates considerable physical activity including prolonged standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting items up to 50 lbs. Work is often indoors within hotel settings and involves exposure to equipment, chemicals, dirt, odors, temperature extremes, and noise. Compliance with safety measures and use of protective gear is mandatory.
