Role Overview
This full-time, on-site position based in Waterdown, ON, involves installing, repairing, and maintaining diverse roof types such as shingles and flat roofs, adhering to company procedures and safety protocols. Daily duties include preparing the work environment, accurately measuring and cutting roofing materials, applying waterproofing and insulation products, and performing carpentry-related tasks when necessary. The roofer inspects roofs to identify damage and determine suitable repairs, completing tasks efficiently while ensuring the site remains clean and safe.
This position requires working at heights, using both power and hand tools safely, collaborating effectively with crew members, and maintaining clear communication with supervisors regarding project status and material needs.
Qualifications
- Proficient in installing, repairing, and maintaining different roofing systems including waterproofing layers.
- Experience with carpentry tasks related to roof structures and framework.
- Knowledge of installing and managing insulation for roofs and attic areas.
- Comfort and capability to work safely at heights while following fall protection guidelines.
- Understanding of applicable building codes, safety practices, and correct tool usage.
- Physical stamina to handle lifting materials, work in varying weather, and perform consistent manual work.
- Meticulous with a strong problem-solving mindset and dedication to high-quality workmanship.
- Access to reliable transportation within Waterdown and willingness to work extended hours when necessary.
- Previous experience in roofing preferred; any trade certification or safety training such as Working at Heights certification is advantageous.
