Role Overview

The Revenue Analyst plays a crucial role in monitoring and optimizing hotel revenue streams, assisting in strategy formulation, and analyzing market and booking data to support operational excellence.

Key Duties

  • Evaluate daily hotel occupancy rates, Average Daily Rate (ADR), Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR), total room income, and booking pickup trends
  • Track bookings, cancellations, no-shows, and booking pace to assess demand patterns
  • Generate detailed revenue and forecasting reports on daily, weekly, and monthly bases
  • Support the Revenue Manager in setting effective pricing and room inventory management strategies
  • Analyze past and current datasets to project future booking demands and hotel occupancy
  • Keep an eye on competitor pricing, promotions, packages, and general market stance
  • Advise on appropriate room rates considering market demand, seasonal fluctuations, events, and overall market environment
  • Manage and analyze room inventory spread across different room categories and pricing tiers
  • Identify tactics to boost revenue through upselling, special packages, promotional offers, and restrictions
  • Oversee the performance of online travel agencies (OTAs) like Booking.com and Expedia in addition to direct booking channels
  • Assess market segment performance including corporate, leisure, group, wholesale, and government clients
  • Contribute to setting minimum length of stay (MLOS), closed to arrival (CTA), and other revenue control measures
  • Collaborate closely with departments such as Sales, Reservations, Front Office, Finance, and Marketing
  • Prepare insightful presentations and reports for managerial discussions
  • Maintain precise data across the hotel’s Property Management System (PMS), Revenue Management System (RMS), Central Reservation System (CRS), and reporting tools

Candidate Profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields; additional qualifications in Revenue Management or Hospitality Analytics are advantageous
  • Experience: One to three years in hotel revenue management, reservations, finance or hotel operations preferred; candidates with four- or five-star hotel experience favored; entry-level candidates with strong analytical and Excel skills may be considered
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in Microsoft Excel functions such as Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS/COUNTIFS, charts, and dashboards; familiarity with hotel-specific software including PMS, RMS, CRS, channel management, with Opera PMS, IDeaS, or Duetto being advantageous; understanding of STR reports and competitor set analysis
  • Revenue Management Knowledge: Grasp of occupancy metrics (ADR, RevPAR, TRevPAR, GOPPAR), forecasting, demand and price strategy, inventory control, market segmentation, booking channel dynamics, pickup analysis, no-shows, and OTA performance
  • Personal Attributes: Strong analytical and numerical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, problem-solving skills, commercial awareness, strong communication, ability to collaborate cross-functionally and to work under pressure to meet deadlines
