About the Role
A biopharmaceutical organization located in Cork is looking for an enthusiastic Revenue Accountant to become part of their Global Revenue Accounting Team. This position requires ensuring precise financial reporting and managing activities such as gross-to-net adjustments, month-end closing, contract evaluations, and rebate processing. The accountant will collaborate across various departments including Commercial, Legal, Market Access, and Finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct month-end and quarter-end closing tasks, including preparation of gross-to-net (GTN) accruals, reconciling balance sheets, and preparing financial reports.
- Review and process rebate claims to align with commercial contracts and accrual provisions.
- Support analysis and evaluation of Commercial Contracts per ASC 606 guidelines to ensure correct revenue recognition.
- Provide revenue reporting and coordinate with Legal, Market Access, Commercial Operations, and Finance teams to evaluate the revenue recognition impact of international commercial and payer contract frameworks under ASC 606.
- Contribute to year-end financial audits and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance audits, along with assisting in the preparation of SEC reports such as 10Q filings.
- Carry out various financial analyses and respond to queries as required on an ad hoc basis.
- Collaborate closely with local and global Finance teams, ensuring adherence to worldwide deadlines.
Qualifications and Experience
- Academic degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Certification as a fully qualified accountant, preferably ACA or ACCA.
- Demonstrable experience in revenue accounting or comparable financial roles.
- Competence with accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, particularly ASC 606 standards.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet strict timelines and thrive under pressure.
- Awareness of Sarbanes Oxley regulations and internal control requirements is a plus.
- Experience working with SAP S4 Hana and Vistex systems is beneficial.
