About Marks and Role Overview

Marks is part of a Next-Generation Creative Platform, uniting 2,300 professionals from creative, digital commerce, strategic, and content production fields to engage with global and local cultural conversations. Within this network, the Retoucher plays a vital role in enhancing the quality and consistency of digital assets. You'll collaborate with CGI artists, photographers, art directors, producers, and creative teams both in the UK and internationally, working on a variety of projects across consumer packaged goods, premium toy, and technology brands to produce outstanding visual content.

Primary Responsibilities

• Apply sophisticated retouching techniques to improve and perfect digital images while preserving the style and aesthetic intended.
• Collaborate closely with CGI artists, producers, photographers, and art directors to align retouched images with creative goals.
• Offer constructive feedback and guidance to teammates to enhance the overall creative quality.
• Perform detailed quality assurance to ensure images are error-free and ready for client delivery.
• Identify and implement workflow improvements to boost efficiency and output quality.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Expertise in adjusting color, exposure, and composition with meticulous accuracy.
• Strong understanding of lighting and color theory applied to digital imagery.
• Effective communication skills to engage with clients and creative teams to grasp their retouching requirements and guarantee satisfaction.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate productively with remote teams.
• Commitment to staying updated on industry trends, including advanced retouching techniques and AI integration.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to independently manage projects from inception to completion.
• Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring consistency across large sets of images.

Quality Assurance and Client Engagement

• Conduct final examinations of images to detect and correct any errors, ensuring they meet client-ready standards.
• Review colleagues' retouching to maintain uniformity and high standards across projects.
• Build strong client relationships by understanding their unique retouching needs and delivering satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least four years of professional experience as a retoucher within commercial photography or creative agency environments.
• A comprehensive portfolio demonstrating mastery in image retouching and a deep understanding of brand development and design principles.
• Advanced proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and other industry-standard retouching tools.
• Extensive knowledge of color correction, image compositing, and nondestructive editing techniques.
• Experience collaborating in CGI-driven workflows or working with 3D design software.
• A passion for emerging retouching trends, techniques, and technologies, including AI applications.
• Proven capability to work effectively with remotely located team members.
