Role Overview

As a key member of New Balance's Retail Leadership Team, the full-time Retail Team Lead contributes by managing daily store operations including opening and closing. The role involves driving business results, operational management, and ensuring exceptional customer experiences while exemplifying New Balance’s Core Competencies through leadership by example.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive leadership presence on the sales floor, professionally communicating and coaching all associates.
  • Focus on achieving store key performance indicators by developing and training team members.
  • Assist the store manager with scheduling and take charge of floor layout changes as necessary.
  • Deliver superior guest service aligned with the company’s GUEST service standards.
  • Manage operational duties such as opening and closing procedures, inventory control, and compliance with operational policies.
  • Participate in recruitment activities including interviewing and hiring talented individuals.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and reporting requirements, including correct lifting techniques.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Preferably 2 years of retail supervisory experience.
  • High school diploma or an equivalent level of education.
  • Proven leadership skills with strong verbal communication and customer service abilities.
  • Flexible availability to accommodate the demands of a busy retail environment, including weekends and holidays.
  • Physical capabilities including frequent lifting of up to 4 lbs, occasional lifting up to 8 lbs, frequent kneeling or squatting, moving product boxes up to 50 lbs with help, prolonged standing, occasional ladder climbing, and frequent stair navigation.

Compensation and Work Schedule

Hourly pay ranges from $19.15 to $28.73 for the London, Ontario retail location, with actual pay depending on experience, tenure, internal equity, and geographic factors.

The company supports a flexible work schedule promoting teamwork and collaboration with emphasis on in-person engagement. While rooted in in-person team interactions, some office-based associates follow a hybrid model requiring attendance on Wednesdays and occasional in-office meetings.
