Retail Store Manager

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Retail Store Manager capable of independently running a retail store, leading a compact team, boosting sales, and delivering superior customer service. The successful candidate will bring reliability, confidence, discipline, and a process-oriented approach, embracing full ownership of the store operations rather than viewing it just as a job.

Key Responsibilities

• Exemplify punctuality, effective communication, professional grooming, and conduct to foster a positive team culture.
• Conduct daily team meetings and weekly performance evaluations to promote motivation and discipline.
• Train staff on sales techniques, customer engagement, grooming standards, and operational procedures.
• Address and resolve conflicts in a fair manner, maintaining professionalism.
• Consistently meet sales targets on daily, weekly, and monthly bases, while ensuring excellent customer satisfaction with minimal returns or exchanges.
• Apply upselling and value-based selling strategies.
• Manage escalated customer complaints calmly and effectively.
• Collect and utilize customer feedback for service and operational improvements.
• Oversee complete store operations including inventory, display maintenance, store cleanliness, billing processes, cash handling, product returns, and opening/closing duties.
• Ensure zero inventory shrinkage and transparent stock management.
• Maintain high standards of visual merchandising with daily refreshes.
• Strictly follow all store standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Monitor category sales data, including top-selling and slow-moving items, and size distribution.
• Use data-driven insights to recommend reorder quantities.
• Coordinate with vendors for procurement and quality checks.
• Maintain product quality standards and management of exchange stock.
• Track key performance indicators such as average order value, conversion rates, repeat purchase percentage, return rates, and staff productivity.
• Prepare comprehensive daily and weekly operational reports with actionable recommendations.
• Confidently use POS systems, customer relationship management tools, and Excel for operational management and data analysis.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum three years of experience as a retail store manager, preferably in kids wear.
• Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Strong ownership, discipline, and reliability.
• Ability to independently handle customers and resolve issues effectively.
• Practical experience with POS software, WhatsApp Business, and Excel.
• Visual merchandising skills and prior experience managing a store independently are advantageous.

Working Hours and Benefits

• Work schedule consists of six working days with shift timings from 1:00 PM to 10:30 PM.
• One paid leave per month.
• Monthly salary ranging from ₹30,000 to ₹35,000 depending on experience.
• Sales incentives up to ₹5,000 per month.

Reporting Structure

This position directly reports to and collaborates closely with the Business Owner.
