Retail Sales Executive

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Retail Store Assistant to support the seamless operations of a 24-hour pharmacy located in Bengaluru. This full-time role involves a variety of tasks including customer assistance, stock inwarding, inventory control, billing, and maintaining store standards while working on rotating 10-hour shifts that cover days, evenings, nights, as well as Sundays and public holidays.

Key Duties

• Receive and verify incoming stock of medicines and healthcare products against purchase documents for accuracy in quantity, batch, expiry dates, MRP, and condition.
• Report any discrepancies such as shortages, damaged, or incorrect items to the Store Manager promptly.
• Perform appropriate labeling and storage of products, including temperature-sensitive items following mandatory guidelines.
• Maintain proper documentation for all stock inward entries and generate Goods Receipt Notes as required.
• Organize inventory systematically by category and product type, adhering to First Expiry First Out (FEFO) practices.
• Conduct routine expiry checks to identify products nearing expiration or unsuitable for sale.
• Assist with regular stock audits, physical counts, and inventory reconciliations to uphold accurate stock levels.
• Support sales by professionally engaging with customers, handling billing and payments accurately using the POS system.
• Escalate any prescription or clinical questions to the qualified pharmacist promptly and maintain courteous interaction with all patrons.
• Ensure the store environment including shelves and counters remain clean, well organized, and properly merchandised.
• Perform opening, closing, and smooth shift transitions documenting all critical information for continuity.
• Comply with all operational, safety, hygiene, and company policies relevant to pharmacy retail operations.

Work Schedule

The position mandates working flexible rotating shifts of 10 hours including nights, weekends, Sundays, and public holidays, with weekly offs allotted on a rotational basis. Timeliness and proper handover during shift changes are essential to ensure ongoing store functionality.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum education: Completion of 10th or 12th standard or equivalent.
• Experience in pharmacy retail, medical stores, hospital pharmacy, supermarkets, or related retail areas preferred.
• Familiarity with stock management, inwarding processes, billing, and POS handling is advantageous.
• Basic computer proficiency required.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and inventory management.
• Effective communication skills and customer-oriented approach.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shift rotations.

Employees must comply with company policies and labor regulations regarding shift rotations, including working public holidays and weekends as scheduled.
