Retail Sales Assistant

About the Company and Role

Production Equipment Europe is a prominent industrial distributor offering over 90,000 products to clients throughout Europe. We are currently seeking a Retail Sales Assistant to be part of our Safety Direct retail division. This full-time position involves working Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, as well as Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM on a rotating weekly schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers as they enter the store and provide assistance in locating desired products.
• Educate customers on the technical advantages of our product range with confidence during interactions.
• Maintain product presentation through merchandising and stock organization including warehouse item location.
• Keep the retail space well-stocked and orderly throughout the business day.
• Deliver excellent customer service consistently and aim to boost sales by maximizing each transaction.
• Communicate any discrepancies or operational issues to the Business Manager.
• Handle cash register reconciliation and manage customer refunds effectively.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous technical experience or background in trades, agriculture, construction, safety equipment, DIY, or related sectors is preferred.
• Exhibit politeness, patience, and helpfulness with excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly, engaging demeanor.
• Strong teamwork capability complemented by clear communication, organizational, and administrative skills.
• Demonstrate flexibility, dependability, and proactivity with a readiness to introduce innovative ideas and initiatives.
