Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Retail Cashier to join our Sharjah branch on a full-time, on-site basis. The role centers around efficiently managing front-end sales operations including operating cash registers, processing transactions securely both with cash and electronic payments, and ensuring accurate receipt issuance. The cashier plays a key role in greeting customers warmly, providing answers to simple product or pricing queries, and keeping the checkout area orderly and hygienic.
Additional responsibilities include verifying prices and promotions during checkout, carefully packing groceries, and promptly reporting any discrepancies to the supervisor. The position demands teamwork and communication to enable smooth daily operations and exceptional customer service.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, enabling courteous and professional engagement with a diverse customer base.
- Basic arithmetic skills and careful attention to detail to handle monetary transactions and provide accurate change.
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic computer skills is advantageous.
- Physical endurance to stand for long periods and adapt to a fast-moving retail setting.
- Trustworthiness, reliability, and commitment to following safety, cleanliness, and company policies.
- Prior experience in retail or customer service roles is preferred, although not strictly required.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Basic English fluency is required, with additional knowledge of Arabic or other languages considered beneficial.
