Role Overview
The Assistant Store Manager plays a vital role in supporting the management team by handling operational activities and leading the store team. This role focuses on optimizing daily store performance, motivating and guiding staff, managing merchandise, and enhancing customer experiences while contributing to the store’s overall profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire team members to achieve sales objectives and deliver excellent customer service while promoting a positive workplace atmosphere.
- Ensure visual merchandising standards that reflect Skechers' brand style and innovation are maintained through effective product displays and store layout.
- Supervise inventory levels, coordinate restocking, and organize the sales floor to ensure an efficient and attractive shopping environment.
- Manage store operations such as staff scheduling, opening and closing procedures, and daily operational systems; assist in physical tasks like lifting boxes weighing up to 50 lbs during busy periods.
- Implement sales strategies to boost revenue, set performance benchmarks, and surpass sales targets.
- Resolve operational and customer service challenges proactively to maintain high satisfaction levels.
Qualifications and Skills
- Availability to work flexible shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
- Strong organizational competencies for managing inventory and store operations efficiently.
- Experience in managing sales with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
- Ability to foster a respectful and inclusive working environment that ensures safety and collaboration.
- Excellent leadership and communication capabilities to engage team members effectively.
- Strong discretion and urgency in handling tasks and sensitive information.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
- Prior leadership experience in retail, restaurant, or hospitality sectors is advantageous but not compulsory.
- Proficiency in sales techniques aimed at revenue growth.
- Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old at time of hiring.
