Role Overview
This full-time, on-site retail assistant position is based at Decor Warehouse's Dublin 12 location. The role involves warmly greeting customers, advising on wallpapers, paints, and related décor products, and fostering a welcoming in-store atmosphere. Duties include processing sales through cash and card payments, keeping displays and stock areas neat, restocking shelves, managing inventory checks, and helping with placing and receiving orders. The assistant may also support online order handling, respond to customer inquiries both in-person and by phone, and collaborate with colleagues to achieve sales and service targets.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent customer service abilities focused on providing helpful, solution-driven support.
- Strong communication skills for clear and polite interaction with customers and coworkers.
- Sales skills including product knowledge, upselling, and transaction accuracy.
- Experience in retail, especially home décor or similar client-facing roles, is advantageous.
- Willingness and availability to work on-site in Dublin 12, including weekends when necessary.
- Basic numeracy and attention to detail, plus fundamental computer skills to operate point-of-sale systems and assist with online orders.
- Dependability, a positive mindset, eagerness to learn product lines, and teamwork spirit.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Tasks include updating the website by uploading products, maintaining stock quantity information, and scanning items; training will be provided for this.
- Interest in interior design and home decor is beneficial.
