Restaurant Waitress / Hostess

Overview

This role entails delivering food and beverage service to guests within a designated outlet at a luxury hotel, ensuring a courteous, professional, and adaptable approach that aligns with the hotel's high standards and core values to maximize guest satisfaction and drive sales.

Primary Duties

• Strict compliance with hotel policies including fire safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
• Effective management of the service team, allocating tasks appropriately.
• Maintaining high-quality product and service levels within the outlet.
• Proactively seeking business growth opportunities on an ongoing basis.
• Following punctuality and dress code standards, including wearing a clean and pressed uniform, polished shoes, and name tag.
• Providing consistently courteous, professional, and efficient service.
• Possessing comprehensive knowledge of the outlet’s food and beverage offerings and being skilled in upselling and suggesting alternatives.
• Monitoring supplies and equipment to minimize waste and spoilage.
• Keeping the work and surrounding areas clean, organized, and adhering to opening and closing procedures.
• Handling guest inquiries and complaints promptly, escalating when required, and ensuring follow-up.
• Operating the POS system according to assigned training level.
• Maintaining good relationships with colleagues across departments and participating actively in meetings and trainings.
• Supporting inventory counts and undertaking additional tasks assigned by management.
• Maintaining guest history records, reservation logs, and coordinating menu printing.
• Ensuring effective communication with related departments such as Guest Services, Concierge, Reservations, other F&B outlets, and In-Room Dining and Banqueting.
• Demonstrating a positive, motivated attitude with sound self-control at all times.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Previous experience in food and beverage service roles.
• Educational background in Hospitality Management or a related discipline.
• Ability to operate confidently within a multinational environment.
• Excellent spoken and written local language proficiency.
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
• Additional language skills are advantageous.
• Capability to work well under pressure, contribute to teamwork, and provide proactive problem-solving.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time-management capabilities.
