About Impact Lens Consulting
Impact Lens Consulting is a technology-focused Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning, Research & Analytics (MELRA) consultancy that supports organizations in measuring, comprehending, and communicating their social impact. They provide evaluations, research, analytics, and digital MEL solutions aimed at converting evidence into informed decisions and sustainable social outcomes. The workplace culture emphasizes collaboration, continual learning, and rigorous, practical approaches.
Role Overview
Impact Lens Consulting is forming a compact consulting team to conduct a fundraising strategy project for an international NGO in Kenya. The firm seeks a seasoned Fundraising Team Leader to spearhead the assignment, collaborating closely with a fundraising strategist and a data/technology expert.
Key Responsibilities
- Spearhead the consultancy engagement as the senior expert in public and individual fundraising.
- Develop and oversee market analysis, donor behavior studies, and stakeholder engagement processes.
- Identify and prioritize effective fundraising products and channels such as regular giving, digital/mobile giving, mass-participation fundraising, diaspora giving, legacy giving, and crowdfunding partnerships.
- Convert research findings into a well-costed, actionable fundraising strategy including revenue projections and an implementation plan.
- Deliver presentations of findings and strategic proposals to client leadership and governance entities.
- Ensure technical oversight and uphold quality standards across all consultancy outputs.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess 8 to 10+ years of advancing experience in fundraising, with proven success in public fundraising and individual giving rather than solely institutional or corporate fundraising.
- Have comprehensive knowledge of the Kenyan fundraising ecosystem, including donor behaviors, mobile money and digital giving technologies, the NGO regulatory and tax context, and local donation culture.
- Demonstrated capability in designing or expanding fundraising products and channels, preferably within NGO, INGO, or federated organizations.
- Strong skills in market research, data analysis, and strategic documentation.
- Excellent facilitation and English presentation skills.
- Hold a relevant university degree (e.g., Business, Marketing, Communications, Development Studies) and preferably a professional fundraising certification.
- Completed at least two similar projects in the past five years with verifiable references.
- Able to provide necessary supporting and compliance documentation if shortlisted.
