About the Role
H2 Builders is seeking a skilled Residential Estimator to join their professional, team-focused environment. The company values excellence, quality, and integrity in all projects. This role demands attention to detail and strong collaboration within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare comprehensive bid packages and evaluate bids for completeness.
- Conduct precise quantity take-offs and scrutinize bid documents thoroughly.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with subcontractors.
- Negotiate contract terms with subcontractors including lump sum and unit pricing.
- Regularly update estimating data related to materials and construction methods.
- Gain a deep understanding of all stages of estimates and the associated cost structures.
- Comply with community regulations and building codes.
- Customize estimation approaches using historical data, square footage pricing, and subcontractor budgets.
- Identify constructability concerns and propose value engineering solutions.
- Collaborate effectively with Operations, Sales, and Accounting teams.
- Develop and understand baseline project schedules.
- Match subcontractors appropriately to project size and scope.
- Lead Preconstruction and Operations turnover meetings.
- Analyze costs and inform sales teams regarding pricing trends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in construction estimating.
- High proficiency with estimating and scheduling software.
- Strong mathematical, logical, and organizational capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines efficiently.
- A collaborative mindset for thriving in a team-oriented office setting.
