Role Overview
We are hiring a Resident Caretaker to join our team in New Westminster. This position involves hands-on responsibility for managing the everyday operations of a residential rental property, covering property administration, maintenance, resident relations, and coordination with contractors to maintain a well-managed environment.
Key Duties
- Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of communal spaces, exterior grounds, and prepare suites for new tenants.
- Carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks such as basic plumbing and general upkeep.
- Manage and oversee external contractors, service providers, and maintenance personnel.
- Perform move-in and move-out inspections and help facilitate resident onboarding procedures.
- Handle rent collection and ensure accurate documentation of resident and property records.
- Draft incident reports, building logs, and maintain necessary documentation.
- Ensure building safety and support compliance with fire codes and regulatory standards.
- Address resident inquiries promptly and collaborate with the Property Manager to resolve concerns.
- Participate in emergency on-call duties as required.
- Assist with other property-related operational tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years experience in caretaking, building maintenance, or property management roles.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills paired with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Highly organized with a keen eye for detail.
- Comfortable with technology and learning new software platforms.
- Self-driven and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Possession of a valid Class 5 driver's license and vehicle access is an advantage.
- Must be available to work on-site at the property location in New Westminster; remote work is not an option.
