Job description
About the Role
We are seeking passionate and skilled individuals to join our dynamic team in 2027. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop groundbreaking AI-powered search systems, addressing complex technical challenges while fostering immense personal and professional growth. Successful candidates must be available to start onboarding by the end of 2027, indicating their availability and graduation date clearly in their application.
Team and Project Overview
Our Search Team focuses on designing, building, and owning an advanced search engine that delivers exceptional experiences to users. The role involves full-stack development of search systems integrating traditional information retrieval techniques with contemporary machine learning approaches, including NLP, Computer Vision, Multimodal learning, and Recommender Systems. We nurture a culture that values autonomy, intellectual curiosity, openness, and innovative problem-solving.
Project Focus Areas
- Integrate foundation models with personalized ranking algorithms to elevate ranking precision and enhance user satisfaction.
- Develop end-to-end generative search models leveraging multimodal pre-training strategies.
- Explore and implement LLM-based agent technologies to better address complex, ambiguous queries and multi-turn search interactions.
Challenges to Address
- Traditional ranking methods struggle to incorporate multimodal data effectively and lack sufficient complexity for personalized search demands.
- Existing cascaded ranking systems are inadequate for ultra-large-scale retrieval and ranking across candidate pools with hundreds of billions of items.
- Long, ambiguous, and complex multi-turn queries present challenges in accurately understanding user intent, resulting in suboptimal search outcomes.
Technical and Business Impact
- Advance beyond the limitations of conventional search technologies to build next-gen AI search architectures powered by LLM agents.
- Address key difficulties such as personalized ranking, ultra-large-scale retrieval, and complex query understanding.
- Enhance user satisfaction significantly, improving long-term search engagement and proactively supporting user search intent.
Minimum Qualifications
- Candidates completing or who have recently completed a PhD in AI, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong coding abilities and firm grasp of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Large Language Models, with proficiency in C/C++ or Python.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exceptional problem-defining, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Prior publications in AI conferences such as AAAI, NeurIPS, ACL, or equivalent in-depth research experience are preferred.
- Demonstrated resilience, excellent communication, teamwork capabilities, and a passion for technological innovation and collaboration.
