Job description

About Us

We believe artificial intelligence should continually evolve rather than remain static. Our mission focuses on developing adaptive intelligence that operates efficiently and evolves in real-time. We envision AI systems that are flexible, personalized, and accessible to all. Efficiency is the key to widening access and ensuring innovations benefit the majority. Our team brings together top-tier talent dedicated to advancing continuous adaptation and reshaping the future of intelligent systems.

Role Overview

This role involves conducting impactful research focused on practical applications. We pioneer innovations in efficiency, gradient-free exploration, real-time learning, and interface design. Thanks to reduced costs of generating synthetic data, we treat data as a flexible space that can be optimized to expose currently unseen scenarios and improve system intelligence through interactive algorithms. We welcome candidates passionate about building algorithms that interact with the world and developing intelligent systems rooted in real-time responsiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive innovation by co-developing algorithms that respond immediately to product signals and feedback.
  • Design novel feedback mechanisms to improve algorithmic performance.
  • Collaborate extensively across software, hardware, and algorithm domains to enhance system-wide efficiency.
  • Focus on meaningful metrics, emphasizing real-world impact through product integration and interaction.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD or equivalent research experience in computer science or related fields.
  • Four to five or more years of industry experience.
  • Expertise in at least one of these areas: model efficiency, real-time alignment, or algorithmic optimization.
  • Capability to think systemically and optimize machine learning stacks end-to-end.
  • Strong programming proficiency in Python and experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
  • Familiarity with model optimization strategies like Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF) and finetuning.
  • Experience working with scalable computing environments in industry labs.

Team Culture and Values

We highly value collaborative team members who lighten the work environment and confidently propose bold innovative ideas. Adaptability is essential; perfection is not required. We encourage applications from candidates who may not meet every criterion.

Benefits

  • Flexible working arrangements combining onsite collaboration in the Bay Area, a distributed global-first team, and periodic team offsites.
  • Adaption Passport: An annual travel budget to explore new countries, reflecting our commitment to evolving intelligence aligned with personal growth.
  • Weekly lunch stipend covering take-out or grocery delivery.
  • Comprehensive medical insurance and generous paid time off for wellbeing.
