Job Summary

The clinical laboratory seeks a Research Officer to contribute to high-throughput sequencing projects related to precision medicine and population genomics. The ideal candidate will possess solid molecular biology expertise and a passion for applying advanced technologies to benefit the broader community.

Responsibilities

• Complete training on ultra-high throughput next-generation sequencing (NGS) workflows.
• Conduct sample quality control, prepare sequencing libraries, and execute high-throughput sequencing runs.
• Analyze sequencing data and deliver timely reports.
• Assist with troubleshooting procedures and maintain comprehensive documentation for all processes.
• Collaborate with bioinformaticians to assess and interpret bioinformatics results.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and adhere to quality standards in documentation.
• Supervise and provide training for junior team members.
• Participate in ad-hoc projects as necessary.
• Perform shift duties when required.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related discipline, or a diploma in Life Sciences with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Strong attention to detail is essential.
• Hands-on experience with NGS technologies is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
• Positive, proactive attitude with eagerness to learn and work constructively within a team.
• Willingness and flexibility to work shifts is advantageous.
