Role Overview and Responsibilities

As a Research Analyst, you will collaborate closely with the investment team to create insights and tools that facilitate live investment decisions. This role involves hands-on involvement and intensive learning, suited for individuals interested in financial markets and driven by data-centric problem-solving.

• Create and sustain proprietary macroeconomic models capturing GDP, inflation, current account balances, and monetary policy for G10 and emerging market economies.
• Analyze and interpret communications from central banks including the Fed, ECB, BOJ, RBI, BOK, and PBoC to predict policy directions and rate differentials.
• Track real-time economic indicators, focusing on deviations from consensus and resulting market effects.
• Translate macroeconomic perspectives into actionable trade strategies across rates, foreign exchange, and equities.
• Prepare comprehensive daily and weekly market commentaries that integrate macroeconomic developments, central bank messaging, and positioning data.
• Observe global capital movements, speculative positions (such as COT and prime brokerage data), and investor sentiment metrics.
• Establish and nurture connections with sell-side economists, central bank analysts, and independent macroeconomic researchers.

Qualifications and Desired Skills

• A Master’s degree or PhD in Economics or related fields.
• Exceptional candidates holding a bachelor’s degree in quantitative disciplines such as Econometrics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or Operational Research will also be considered.
• Relevant background in macroeconomic research, policy analysis, or financial market research is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Python and/or R programming languages.
• Knowledge of statistical and econometric theories.
• Experience with macroeconomic and financial data platforms like Bloomberg, CEIC, Haver, or Macrobond is beneficial.
• Interest in financial markets and macroeconomic trends.
• Understanding of derivatives, options, or econometrics concepts.
